Band 7 - Salary Range $106,626 to $119,182 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO

Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity

At Melton City Council, we are dedicated to creating a vibrant and liveable city for everyone. As part of the Technology team, you will be key to help deliver the Technology Change Program (TCP).

In this role you will be responsible for leading, developing and delivering clear, engaging, and targeted communications to support the Technology Change Program (TCP) objectives.

This role works closely with program team, stakeholders, and change managers to ensure considered and effective messaging, stakeholder engagement, and ultimately adoption of program initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and implement targeted communication plans that align with the TCP goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Develop clear, concise, and tailored messages about the changes being implemented.
  • Update stakeholders, including leadership, employees, and other relevant parties with regular updates and reports on communication activities and stakeholder responses.
  • Monitor and adjust communication plans based on feedback and the TCP program developments.
  • Develop engaging visual and written content for various communication channels. This may include emails, newsletters, intranet content, FAQs, presentations, reports and memos.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field and extensive experience in a similar communications role (internal/external communications, PR, or media relations).
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups including executives and project teams, to build and maintain relationships across different departments and organisational levels.
  • Proficiency in communication tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, email platforms, and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience and Understanding of the dynamics of change in local government, including employee resistance, cultural shifts, and how change affects different levels of the organisation.
