The Opportunity
The City of Melton is experiencing one of the fastest growth rates in the state and is currently seeking creative and energetic people to join the Food Services team as a Chef.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the efficient and high quality day – to – day meal service operation, including meal planning, resource allocation, stock management, food preparation and administration processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality day to day meal service, including the planning, allocation of resources, stock purchasing, food preparation, re-heating/cooking, packing accurate labelling and distribution of meals.
- Provide support to the kitchen staff and volunteers, including provision of on-the-job training and mentoring.
- Represent Council in operation meetings and forums pertaining to the Food Services area.
- Ensure working conditions and practices are in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety and Risk Management standards, Food Safety regulations and compliance and other legislative requirements.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- TAFE certificate course or equivalent in cookery.
- Experience of food preparation within a residential, community or commercial environment.
- Accredited Food Safety Hygiene qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing, cooking and distribution meals for a community or large group setting.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
