The Opportunity
A secondment opportunity has arisen for a person to join Melton Council’s Community Participation and Connection team as Team Leader Community Participation and Connection. The role is responsible for leading the operational and program management of Council’s Community Centres and Neighbourhood Houses, maximising community activity and learning opportunities available in local neighbourhoods that are responsive to and/or lead by community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of policy, service models and operational frameworks for the management of Council’s Community Centre and Neighbourhood Houses programs.
- Manage projects that builds community capacity and create opportunities to implement sustainable local initiatives and services.
- Development and implementation of a range of community engagement processes to guide the development of learner focused and place-based programs, events, experiences, and learning opportunities for and with the local community.
- Lead, support and mentor staff to ensure the quality management of operational resources, asset stewardship, excellence in customer support and risk mitigation in the daily operations of Community Centres and Neighbourhood Houses.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- A strong leadership background and sound community development skills to work collaboratively with stakeholders and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a suite of programs and activities that respond to the identified needs of the local community and activate community facilities.
- Proficiency in applying theoretical or scientific principles to develop and manage community programs.
- Understanding of integrated planning and service delivery of Neighbourhood House programs, lifelong learning initiatives and other community-based activities and the long-term goals of the functional unit.
- A current valid Victorian driver’s licence.
