The Opportunity

Are you ready to lead the way in community engagement and consultation, service evaluation, and design innovative, customer-centric solutions that ensure the voices of our customers and employees are heard, understood, and central to shaping Council decisions?
This is an exciting opportunity to join Melton City Council's newly established Experience Insights and Analytics Team within the broader Customer Experience Department. As a key part of this dynamic group, you’ll play a critical role in transforming how we use data, insights, and engagement to inform decisions and enhance the experiences provide through Council services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance and advice and lead Council’s stakeholder and community engagement and service evaluation practices.
- Develop comprehensive engagement and evaluation guidelines and toolkits to support consistent practices across the organisation.
- Conduct customer and service impact assessments, providing insights to drive business process improvements.
- Build organisational capacity through knowledge-sharing and fostering a customer-centric culture to improve experiences with Council’s services, programs, and activities.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in community engagement, service design and evaluation, social sciences or public policy development.
- Demonstrated empathetic communication, interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills; appropriate for wide range of internal and external stakeholders and members of the public.
- Demonstrated skill managing complex community engagements and service evaluations projects including excellent facilitation, negotiation, problem solving, relationship management and advocacy skills.
- Experience leading, coaching and developing communities of practice to provide a consistently good advisory service to cross functional business units.
