The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Recreation and Facility Activation Business Unit as the Facility Service & Support Officer. The City of Melton is the fastest growing municipality in Australia and home to a vibrant and diverse community.

Reporting to the Coordinator Leisure Centres, this position plays an important role in helping to deliver and enhance the health and wellbeing of residents in the City of Melton.

The Facilities Service Support Officer is responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders to develop opportunities to activate the indoor sport stadiums within the City of Melton.
This role will also support the provision of a range of accessible indoor recreation programs and initiatives that encourage participation consistent with Council’s strategic priorities.

We are looking for someone who has a high level of professional customer service techniques and communication skills, an understanding of Occupational Health & Safety, and who is well organised to support the daily operations of Council’s indoor stadiums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate information about Leisure Centres programs, events, services, and facilities to both internal and external customers.  
  •  Provide administrative support to the Leisure Centres team, including, collecting, and mailing of correspondence, dealing with customer enquiries, maintaining data bases and registers, completing relevant reports and taking cash sales. 
  •  Act as a liaison and interface with the range of community and Council users of the Indoor Stadiums. 
  • Take booking enquiries for hireable space within the Indoor Stadiums, maintain booking procedures and booking systems.
  • Support the Coordinator Leisure Centres to maintain systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operations of Indoor Stadiums.
  • Under the direction of the Coordinator Leisure Centres, the incumbent has the authority to undertake all ‘day to day’ activities within Council Policy and Procedures in the provision of the Indoor Stadiums.

About you

This position requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic person that can gain co-operation and maintain genuine relationships with tenants, members of the public and internal stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Secondary education or a minimum of a post-trades certificate or equivalent and/or will have in addition have completed a TAFE certificate course or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer service with good communication skills are essential.
  • Effective and exceptional communication skills with a wide variety of people to gain their co-operation is essential and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
