Band 7 - Salary Range $109,825 to $122,758 per annum + 12% Super + ADO

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Program Lead to join Melton City Council and support the delivery of a range of capital works, major repairs, and strategic projects.

Reporting to the Coordinator Facility Management & Performance, this role works across Facilities and Asset Services and with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to improve and maintain buildings assisting with Council’s service delivery. The role also contributes to Councils capital works portfolio management through delivery of accurate status reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation, implementation and maintenance of a collaborative model for accessing and assuring construction quality. Provide and facilitate advice, process, tools, direction and approval to ensure Community access to high-quality built infrastructure.
  • Conduct review and analysis of local and industry wide trends, to contribute to a body of knowledge of best practice design and material palettes relating to quality standards for construction and component performance.
  • Implement processes with supporting procedures and tools to review and improve the build quality of Council's Built form infrastructure.
  • Supervise, assist and support Project officers in the successful delivery of Minor capital projects.
  • Provide data and assist in the preparation of council reports, briefings, and prepare management and progress reports for Senior Officers.
  • Contribute to and assist with the development of 5 and 10 year Building Component renewal planning.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification at degree or diploma level with several years of relevant work experience in Project Management with either Facility Management, Building design, Facility maintenance or other allied field commensurate with the requirements of the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and adhere to expenditure targets for a managed program.
  • Proven experience in reporting and communicating project status to internal leadership. Including ability to write detailed reports in relation to the area of expertise 
  • Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
