The Opportunity
The Economic Development & Tourism unit is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Concierge Officer to join our dynamic team. This is a key role to support the ongoing development and growth of new businesses in the municipality. This role will shape the future of the Business Concierge program, and create workflows and internal relationships to support businesses growing and establishing in the City of Melton.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Council’s liaison for significant commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments.
- Lead end to end case management for business permit applications across businesses of varying sizes, complexity and maturity.
- Facilitate and chair pre-application, coordination and stakeholder meetings to streamline assessment processes and resolve issues early.
- Establish and embed Council’s Business Concierge Service, acting as a single point of contact for businesses at the initial enquiry stage and providing support throughout the application process.
- Develop processes for cross-team collaboration, knowledge sharing and reduce duplication of tasks.
- Collect and monitor a range of data, benchmarks and performance metrics on the Business Concierge Service and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, public relations, economic development or a related discipline with relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including the ability to prepare reports, deliver presentations and other relevant correspondence.
- Significant experience in economic development, investment facilitation, property development, or local government along with demonstrated ability to operate strategically while managing operational delivery of projects.
- Ability to manage relationships with a diverse and dynamic range of stakeholders including businesses, Council staff and Government representatives.
- Proven project management skills in program planning, managing of budgets and delivery of marketing campaigns.
