The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists in our Mayor and Councillor Support Team for a Councillor Liaison Officer to enhance support for our Councillors.
Reporting to the Team Leader Office of Mayor and Councillors, this role will be vital in assisting Team Melton to achieve its best by being responsible for the end-to-end management of Councillor requests, including the development of workflow process and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships across the organisation and establish yourself as a reliable and responsive point of contact for Councillors.
- Be a first point of contact for Councillors in acknowledging all enquiries and coordinating timely responses including where appropriate resolution to their enquiries.
- Create registers, processes, and reports, including utilising appropriate software solutions, for dashboard reporting on the status of requests and resolutions.
- Monitor and regularly report on the overall status of Councillor requests to Councillors and the Executive Leadership Team.
- Maintain a focus on continuous improvement, including supporting and delivering other projects and initiatives that enhance Councillors’ customer experience, as required.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or significant experience in managing complex enquiries.
- Commitment to a customer centric culture with the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative stakeholder relationships, utilising high level analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills to ensure the success of priority projects.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing systems and processes and a strong commitment to continually improve them.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to operate successfully in undertaking complex task management without close supervision within a highly structured and multifaceted environment.
